Job Purpose
The Key Account Associate supports the Key Account Management team in driving commercial performance across a portfolio of strategic customers. The role ensures operational excellence, delivers commercial insights, and supports execution across the full commercial cycle. Over time, the role evolves into independent account management responsibility.
Key Responsibilities- Support Key Account Managers in executing customer strategies and account plans
- Prepare commercial proposals for promotions and product listings
- Maintain customer data (price lists, contracts, agreements)
- Support forecasting and budgeting processes
- Update and manage forecasts in SAP
- Analyze sales and market data (e.g. Nielsen)
- Coordinate cross-functional activities with marketing, supply chain, and finance
- Act as operational contact for assigned accounts
- Ensure effective use of internal systems and processes
- Act as backup for Key Account Managers
- Manage a portfolio of smaller key accounts independently
- Own P & L including revenue, margin, and trade investment
- Deliver sales, profit, and market share targets
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships
- Bachelor degree (HBO) with 2–3 years experience OR MBO with 5–10 years experience
- Background in Sales, Business Administration, Economics, or Marketing
- Experience in FMCG or Consumer Healthcare preferred
- Strong analytical and numerical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Proactive and results-driven mindset
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- Team player with cross-functional collaboration skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; SAP is a plus
