Position Summary

The position is responsible for supporting the finance and accounting functions within a manufacturing environment. This role ensures the accuracy of financial data, assists with month-end closing, maintains cost accounting records, and supports compliance with GAAP and company policies. The Accounting Manager works closely with plant operations and finance leadership to provide timely, accurate financial information that supports decision-making. This is an individual contributor role and does not include direct people management responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities General Accounting
  • Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
  • Assist with customer invoicing
  • Assist with preparation of monthly, and annual financial statements
Cost Accounting
  • Maintain standard costs, analyze variances, and prepare reports
  • Track and reconcile raw materials, WIP, and finished goods inventory

    Support physical inventory counts and cycle count programs
  • Assist in cost roll-ups and bill of material (BOM) reviews
Financial Reporting & Analysis
  • Assist in preparing management reports, KPIs, and plant performance metrics
  • Provide variance analysis of actual results vs. budget/forecast
  • Support annual budgeting and forecasting processes
Compliance & Controls
  • Ensure adherence to GAAP and company accounting policies
  • Support internal and external audit requests
  • Maintain proper documentation for financial transactions
Collaboration
  • Work with operations, purchasing, and supply chain teams to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Provide accounting support for capital projects and fixed assets
  • Assist with special projects as assigned by Controller or Finance Manager
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
  • 1–3 years of accounting experience (manufacturing or cost accounting experience preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and standard accounting practices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments
