Part‑time Administrative Assistant
Position SummaryEdwards Elementary seeks a part‑time Administrative Assistant for the 2026‑2027 school year, starting in August 2026. Work Monday‑Friday, 4‑hour morning shift on a 9.5 month work calendar.
Responsibilities- Communicates in a welcoming and supportive way toward all students, co‑workers, parents, staff, and community members.
- Compiles information to generate a daily attendance sheet from parental phone calls/notes, prior to arrangement forms and tabulations for staff use.
- Contacts parents/guardians after a 2‑day absence for any student if the parent/guardian has not called.
- Supervises students sent to the office for discipline.
- Works closely with the school busing company concerning eligible students and issues throughout the year.
- Works with professional photographers on school picture days to accommodate their needs as well as student needs; disburses pictures to homeroom teachers for distribution.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- High school graduate or equivalent; post‑high school education in a related field or equivalent experience preferred.
- Prefer a minimum of two years' experience as an administrative assistant.
- Experience with computer applications:
Google Sheets, Google Docs, Excel, Word, and Apple OS. - Knowledge and ability to work effectively and collaboratively with students, parents, and visitors.
- Knowledge of general office procedures and equipment (personal computer, calculator, other office equipment).
- Knowledge of office practices and procedures to include record‑keeping, filing, and reporting methods.
- Ability to handle confidential work with tact and discretion.
- Ability to interact with other staff, students, and the public to obtain and provide information.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Ability to interpret and follow oral and written instructions.
- High standards of ethical conduct and honesty and integrity.
- Commitment to quality service.
- High level of initiative, effort, and commitment towards completing assignments efficiently; works with minimal supervision.
- Consistent and punctual work attendance.
$18.90 per hour
