Experience engaging with various populations such as: students, families, counselors, campus partners, and community partners.

Job Description:

The Office of Admissions at Iowa State University is dedicated to fulfilling the university's land-grant mission by attracting, recruiting, orienting, enrolling, and retaining students to meet institutional enrollment goals. We are seeking qualified candidates for the Admissions II - Enrollment Advisor positions.

This role plays a vital part in supporting prospective and current students as they navigate the enrollment process by providing high-quality support related to admissions and financial aid through phone, e-mail, and in-person interactions. The successful candidate will manage incoming communication, advise on admissions and financial aid processes, handle escalated inquiries, and connect students with appropriate campus resources.

Key Responsibilities

* Counsel and guide prospective and current students through the full enrollment process.

* Provide accurate and timely customer service via phone, email, and in-person communication.

* Manage high-volume inquiries with professionalism, efficiency, and a positive attitude.

* Advise on admissions requirements, application status, financial aid processes, and action items.

* Utilize Workday Student, Salesforce, and other systems to research and resolve student questions.

* Navigate moderate to complex inquiries with accuracy and escalate issues when appropriate.

* Interpret and apply admissions and financial aid policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.

* Track and document communications in CRM systems to ensure consistent and accurate follow-up.

* Make outbound calls to assist students in completing admissions and financial aid steps.

* Schedule appointments and assist students during office visits and campus events.

* Provide basic technical support and direct students to ITS when needed.

* Communicate in a clear, friendly, and professional manner aligned with university standards.

* Identify inquiry trends and share insights to support improved communication and processes.

* Participate in individual and group training, proactively addressing knowledge gaps.

* Support admissions and enrollment events such as campus visits, Admitted Student Day, and Destination Iowa State.

* Provides information and guidance to prospective students and their families regarding university programs, student life, upcoming deadlines, and admission policies and procedures.

* Counsels and advises prospective, current, and former students, parents, faculty and staff concerning financial aid, admission policies, procedures, application materials and transfer credit issues.

* Opportunity to represent the University at on-campus recruitment and orientation events.

* Provides status updates regarding eligibility, scholarships, and applications.

* Counsels students and families at the generalist level on financial aid including eligibility, application procedures, aid programs, and costs.

* Works closely with student employees and assists with overseeing work of student employees.

* Opportunity to assist with training and development of student employees.

Level Guidelines

* Intermediate-level position with solid professional and/or technical skills working under general supervision to achieve goals

* Applies broad, working knowledge of the principles of the field to moderately complex, difficult, and varied problems and issues

* Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action and resolve problems

* Responds to a broad range of inquiries and requests

* May provide training and/or direction to lower-level staff

* May lead projects of moderate scope and complexity

* Provides guidance to students
