Ames Community School District is seeking Substitute Educational Associates for the 2025-26 school year. Enjoy a flexible schedule – work when and where you want: preschool, elementary, or secondary grades. These are part-time, on-call substitute positions.

• Supports teachers in meeting the needs of students in all classrooms, including special education.
• Supports academic instruction with small groups of students.
• Supervises students during other components of the school day.
• Remains at school the entire school day, unless otherwise instructed or listed in the assigned position.
• Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Maintains reasonable rules of conduct which encourages self-discipline and responsibility.
• Creates a sense of belonging and a welcoming environment for all students.

• Ability to relate effectively to children with different academic and behavioral needs.
• Must complete the required training within 30 days of being activated as a substitute in the substitute system.

Hourly Wage: $14.45 for general ed. associates, $16.75 for preschool or special ed. associates, $22.75 for AMES Center associates.
