Key Responsibilities:

Provide accurate and effective sign language interpretation during classroom instruction, meetings, and school events.
Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and other school personnel to ensure equal access to educational content.
Collaborate with educators and support staff to adapt materials and strategies that meet the needs of deaf and hard-of-hearing students.
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
Stay current with sign language standards and educational policies to deliver high-quality interpreting services.

Desired Qualifications and

Experience:

Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with demonstrated interpreting experience in educational settings.
Understanding of deaf culture and the unique needs of students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Ability to travel to multiple school locations as required.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Certification or accreditation as a sign language interpreter is preferred but not mandatory.
