Special Education Integrated Services Teacher

Ames Middle School is seeking Special Education Integrated Services Teachers for the 2026-27 school year. Responsibilities/

Essential Functions:

Demonstrates the ability to enhance academic performance. Demonstrates competence in content knowledge appropriate to the teaching position. Demonstrates competence in planning and preparing for instruction. Uses strategies to deliver instruction that meets the multiple learning needs of students. Uses effective classroom management strategies. Fulfills all the responsibilities of the IEP: timely and current progress monitoring, uses progress monitoring to guide instruction, etc.

Works collaboratively with other educational professionals. Engages in professional growth.

Qualifications:

Valid Iowa teaching license. Special Education Strategist II: BD/LD or willingness to obtain required. The successful candidate will exhibit:
Ability to bend, lift, sit on the floor, run short distances, and assist physically active students. A basic understanding of the needs of children and the ability to relate to children with different academic and behavioral needs. Professional communications skills. Patience and compassion and maintain a caring and helpful relationship with children. Initiative and the insight to anticipate problem situations and respond accordingly.

Ability to create a sense of belonging and welcoming environment for all students and staff. Consistent and punctual attendance.
