The Ames High School is seeking Event Staff. Event staff members support school-sponsored activities such as athletic contests, performances, and special events.
Responsibilities / Essential FunctionsTicket Sales & Entry
- Operates ticket booth, sells and collects tickets, and reconciles sales at the end of the event.
- Greets attendees in a professional, welcoming manner.
- Monitors entrances to ensure only authorized guests enter.
Event Announcing
- Provides clear, engaging, and accurate public address announcements.
- Shares event information, schedules, and important updates in a professional tone.
- Follows the provided scripts and adheres to district guidelines for announcements.
Concession Stand Operations
- Prepares, serves, and sells food and beverages in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Operates the cash register and handles transactions accurately.
- Maintains a clean, organized, and stocked concession area.
General Event Support
- Assists in setting up and closing down event spaces.
- Maintains crowd control and helps ensure a safe, positive environment.
- Communicates effectively with coaches, officials, administrators, and other staff.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and variable hours as scheduled.
- Previous experience in customer service, food service, or event operations preferred but not required.
Desired Attributes
- Experience handling money preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
$11.00 per hour.
