Greater Iowa Credit Union is seeking a Payment Support Specialist who will support credit union lending and deposit operations by conducting daily standardized operational processes. This role is responsible for accurately applying deposits, credit card and loan payments and supporting functions within ACH and Card Operations. This role will be considered an entry point to the payments team.

Hours of Operation— M-F 8am‑5pm (Will need to be in the office every day, due to mail, in the morning or afternoons exact time is TBD)
Essential Functions & Responsibilities- Responsible for accurately applying credit card loan payments and/or deposits on member accounts that come through mail. Complete the necessary forms for loan payoffs' as needed. On occasion communicate with member to resolve issues or concerns.
- Process new GICU credit card requests as well as credit card maintenance. This includes, but not limited to, the following: creating new GICU credit cards on Velera platform, increasing/ decreasing credit lines, fulfilling credit card statement requests, validation of miscellaneous fields, or fee and finance charge review.
- Establish and document existing ACH and Card procedures including any future procedure updates or changes. This includes establishing step-by-step processes for both areas. In addition, documenting and establishing checklists for existing daily, weekly, and monthly tasks.
- Actively participate in daily ACH and Card Operations issue remediation to become acclimated to the importance of the payments experience of GICU members.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience:
One year to three years of similar or related experience.
Education:
A high school education or GED.
Interpersonal
Skills:
Work involves contact with persons beyond immediate associates regarding routine matters for the purpose of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion. Outside contacts take the form of service to the public (members or vendors), requiring ordinary courtesy in providing assistance and information.
- 1. Ability to recognize and identify deficient consumer lending and courtesy pay trends.
- 2. Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills.
- 3. Ability to present information with diplomacy and tact.
- 4. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software applications.
- 5. Ability to work effectively with outside vendors, members and internal staff.
- 6. Ability to operate standard office equipment. Keyboarding skills.
