Job Description

The Iowa State University Police Department is seeking a Mental Health Advocate Supervisor to lead the Mental Health Advocate (MHA) Program. This role bridges the gap between mental health services and public safety, ensuring students, faculty, and staff receive essential care and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage & Develop the MHA Program, implementing mental health initiatives for ISU PD and the university.
  • Provide Crisis Intervention – Assess and respond to harassment, stalking, assaults, and alcohol-related incidents.
  • Lead Training Sessions – Educate police, faculty, and students on crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.
  • Support & Advocate – Review ISU PD reports, conduct outreach, and accompany officers on mental health crisis calls.
  • Enhance Policies & Programs – Develop strategies to strengthen mental health advocacy and campus safety.
