Linux & Network Systems Support Administrator / Systems Support Analyst / Linux Support Administrator

LOCATION:

AMES, IOWA ONSITE

TARGET SALARY: $100K PLUS BONUS, might go higher for the right candidate.  

- A skilled Systems Support Analyst / Linux Support Administrator to join our team and play a critical role in maintaining and supporting our IT infrastructure.

Be responsible for providing technical support for:
Linux, & Networking experience, Servers, workstations, networks, and scale computers while also administering O365 and AWS Organizational Units (OUs).

Systems Support Analyst / Linux Support Administrator will have a strong background in IT support, Linux and networking are MUST HAVES, system administration, and troubleshooting across multiple platforms. This role will involve working closely with internal teams and external clients to ensure smooth operations, timely issue resolution, and optimal system performance. * Key Responsibilities

- Provide phone and email support to external clients, troubleshooting IT issues efficiently.

- Administer CLOUD & ON-PREM Linux instances to ensure system stability.

- Assist with network troubleshooting and configuration, ensuring high availability & minimal downtime.

- Configure and manage firewalls, ensuring network security

- Install, configure, and troubleshoot serial AND network-connected scale devices.

- Manage & support O365 email accounts,

- Administer and maintain remote data center assets and AWS OUs, ensuring secure and scalable cloud operations.

- Strong Documentation

- Provide on-site support and troubleshooting as needed, including occasional travel to company locations.

KEYS:  

- Strong Linux administration skills, including experience with system maintenance and troubleshooting.

- A solid understanding of serial communication protocols and troubleshooting methods.

- Hands-on experience with Forti Gate firewalls and Forti Manager administration.

- Familiarity with O365 administration and Azure Active Directory basics.

- Knowledge of VMware, XCP-NG, and AWS (EC2, VPC) to support virtualized and cloud-based environments.

- Willingness and ability to travel as needed to support remote locations and data centers. Preferred Skills - Windows Server administration experience, including system setup and maintenance.

- Knowledge of DNS and Active Directory management for user authentication and domain services.

Requirements - At least 2 years of experience in systems administration, technical support, or infrastructure support roles.

- Practical Linux administration experience, including maintenance, issue diagnosis, and system troubleshooting.

- Working knowledge of networking concepts and hands-on experience supporting networked environments.

- Experience with Microsoft Windows Server and Active Directory administration.

- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 administration and foundational Azure Active Directory concepts.

- Exposure to virtualization or cloud platforms such as VMware, Citrix technologies, or AWS environments.

- Understanding of serial communication methods and the ability to troubleshoot device connectivity issues.
