The Deputy Director of Planning and Programs leads the Transportation Development Division's planning, modal programs, and research functions for the Iowa Department of Transportation. This management role oversees systems planning, modal transportation, local systems, and research/analytics bureaus while collaborating across districts to improve planning processes. The position reports to the Division Director and serves on senior leadership, based in Ames, Iowa.
Keyqualifications:
- Seven years of full-time management-level work in finance, human resources, engineering, law, social work, regulation, data processing, or program research/evaluation
- Four-year college degree plus seven years relevant management experience, or eleven years management experience alone
- Leadership and oversight experience with planning, programs, and organizational direction
- Valid driver's license
- Experience collaborating across multiple departments and districts
