Position: Quality Inspector / 3rd Shift

The Impact You'll Make

The Quality Inspector is responsible for inspection at different stages of the production/assembly processes by utilizing gaging and measurement equipment. These observations may result in the generation of non‑conforming communications, documentation within established Quality records and the containment of that product. Support of process and product audits are also in scope within this position. This position reports to the associated Quality Manager.

This is a 3rd Shift position, with work hours 10:00 pm to 6:00 am.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Support inspections for incoming and in‑process components and the maintenance of the associated records
  • Utilization of gaging, tools and measuring equipment required for inspection support
  • Support of Nonconforming Area
  • Perform audits of assembly lines and machining areas ensuring that Standard Works are being followed
  • Evaluation of nonconforming product/materials and identification of nonconformance
  • Assist in coordination of nonconforming product to the proper controlled area
  • Compliance of all safety rules and maintenance of proper housekeeping using 5S techniques
  • Compliance to all Danfoss policies, procedures and instructions to ensure product quality, customer satisfaction, attainment of business goals, and environmental well‑being
  • Perform audit of products before they are shipped
What We're Looking For
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred
  • Two (2) to three (3) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of handheld inspection tools, micrometers, calipers, thread gages
  • Basic understanding of engineering drawings including basic GD&T
  • One‑year certificate from college or technical school preferred
  • Computer skills specifically Microsoft Office and preferred SAP

  • Attendance:
    High expectations for timeliness and communication of absences for pre‑approval. Ability to work occasional overtime

    Follows safety & housekeeping standards and procedures, uses appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), awareness and concern for the safety of others

    Follows standard work procedures, self‑acknowledges and corrects mistakes, works to avoid errors and get it right the first time

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time; use hands or fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. Employees frequently are required to walk and talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to sit, stoop, kneel, or crouch, as well as lift large components up to 35 lbs.

While performing the duties of this job the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is at a level the company requires hearing protection. The employee must be physically able to wear appropriate PPE.
