Shift
:
Mon - Thurs (7:00am to 4:30pm) - Friday mornings as needed to hit 40hrs/week.
The primary purpose of this Operation Technician is to perform entry-level laboratory procedures and assist others in more advanced procedures for the production of veterinary biologicals according to strict government and company-imposed guidelines. Assist in all areas of the production of RNA (RP) Particle Vaccine products manufactured in a USDA licensed facility.
Work Activities Include but Are Not Limited To:- Blend and Fill Team
- Maintains production records according to regulations
- Utilization of volumetric aseptic techniques
- Production of RP products for USDA licensure
- Maintenance of Vero cell line and related cell culture activities
- Assist with electroporation process
- Assist with RP harvest and formulation
- Make growth media
- Updates training record as needed
- Restock lab with supplies
- Perform other duties as needed
- Performing basic warehousing and material handling activities: unloading trucks, material movements, order fulfillment, and cycle counts.
- Maintains in-process inventory at work centers by delivering and opening materials and supplies.
- Picking/putting away product
- Preparing materials for shipping
- Working with dry ice
- Perform other duties as required
- High School diploma or equivalent with 2 years of relevant work experience
Experience and Skills:
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting
- Familiar with laboratory or manufacturing procedures
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Good mathematical abilities
- Diversity and inclusion mindset
- Ability to routinely pipette and pour media
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) in an aseptic environment
- Successful completion of Physical Abilities Test
Experience and Skills:
- Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Microbiology, or related science
- Biological laboratory experience
- Efficient and effective organizational/communication skills and the ability to interact with diverse departments
- Good problem-solving skills to identify logical solutions to challenges
- Basic skills with Microsoft Office applications and SAP
- Good documentation practices
- Strong work ethic
- Make rapid, disciplined decisions
