Plasma Center Nurse- RN

Job Description

We are looking for a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations in Ames, IA.

• Determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, including informed consent, medical history interview, physical exam, blood testing, and review of serological results.
• Manage donor adverse events and review laboratory test results; notify donors of unsuitable results.
• Follow SOPs for medical emergencies and coordinate donor transport to emergency care facilities.
• Refer medical or technical issues to Center Physician or Medical Affairs when necessary.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and refer to occupational health/ER as required.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized and support investigations related to pandemic threats.

• High school diploma or recognized nursing program (state licensed in RN, NP or PA).
• Licensed or certified in the state of assignment (RN, NP or PA).
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Completion of the FDA approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
• Minimum two years of clinical or hospital experience.

Hourly wage: $33.44 – $45.98 (reflects anticipated range; actual depends on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location). This position is eligible for a $5,000 sign‑on bonus.
