Clinical Research Nurse
Clinical research nurse job s, IA.
ResponsibilitiesPerform technical and clinical procedures per study protocols, including:
- Venipuncture, specimen processing, vital signs, ECGs
- IV infusions, IV pump operations, Holter monitoring
- Pulmonary function testing, allergy testing
- Urine/serum pregnancy testing, strep throat screening
- Injections (IM/SQ)
Attend investigator meetings, site initiation visits, and coordinator meetings
Administer study drugs and monitor for complications
Maintain accurate dispensing logs and documentation
Document lab data and adverse reactions; notify investigators/sponsors/IRB as needed
Actively recruit and engage participants for clinical trials
Maintain and update Clinical Trial Management System (CTMS)
Communicate recruitment status and clinical needs to investigators and site manager
Build and maintain relationships with study monitors and sponsors
Prepare documentation for audits and assist auditors
Order and manage clinical supplies and rescue drugs
Monitor and maintain temperature logs for lab specimens and investigational products
Package and ship specimens using dry ice per certification standards
Serve as OSHA Representative for the site, including vaccine administration to staff
Calibrate clinical equipment and maintain records
Support training and development of site staff
Travel to other network sites may be required based on workload and project needs
Qualifications1+ year of prior CRC/CRN/clinical research experience (preferred)
If no research experience, minimum of 2+ years of nursing experience required
Experience with IV insertion, vaccinations, and phlebotomy required
Active RN license in the state of Iowa required
CPR certification
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ames, IA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
