Northcrest Community is seeking a dynamic and resident care-driven Director of Nursing to provide clinical leadership and operational oversight for our Health Services areas, including the Health Center, Assisted Living, Heartwood House, and Home Health. This position plays a key role in ensuring the delivery of compassionate, high-quality resident care while supporting compliance, staff development, and clinical excellence across the continuum.
The ideal candidate is an experienced Registered Nurse leader who values teamwork, accountability, communication, and person-centered care. This individual will work closely with the Director of Health Services/Administrator, interdisciplinary teams, residents, families, and clinical staff to promote exceptional outcomes and a positive workplace culture.
- Provide leadership, support, and direction to clinical staff across multiple care settings
- Oversee daily clinical operations to ensure quality care and regulatory compliance
- Support staffing, scheduling, employee development, and performance management
- Participate in hiring, orientation, training, and retention of nursing staff
- Guide individualized resident care planning and interdisciplinary communication
- Monitor infection prevention and control practices
- Participate in survey preparedness, quality improvement initiatives, and policy implementation
- Collaborate with physicians, consultants, pharmacies, residents, and family members to coordinate care and resolve concerns
- Participate in on-call rotation and provide clinical support as needed
- Current unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, hospital, or related healthcare setting
- Strong understanding of nursing regulations, clinical practices, and long-term care standards
- Current CPR certification
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
