Job Summary
Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) supporting the day‑to‑day operations of the Bio Life Plasma Center under the guidance of the Center Manager and the Center Physician. Responsibilities include donor eligibility assessment, management of donor adverse events, review of laboratory test results, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing and review of serological protein electrophoresis (SPE).
- Evaluate donor reactions and follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies, including development of the Center Physician’s standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical guidance concerning donor safety and eligibility.
- Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
- Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER, referencing EHS guidance.
- Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist investigations related to pandemic threats in the local community.
- High school diploma or equivalent, including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
- Currently licensed or certified in the state of assignment: LPN or LVN.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Successfully complete the FDA‑approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
U.S. hourly wage range: $24.32 – $33.44. U.S. based employees may be eligible for short‑term incentives.
