EHR Learning Coach (FT) | MIS | Ames
In this role, you'll partner closely with operations and clinical teams to support Epic adoption, workflow improvement, and use of clinical technology. Your day-to-day work will include:
- Providing one-on-one and group coaching to clinicians on Epic Care Ambulatory and related clinical technologies
- Facilitating classroom and group training sessions for new and existing nurses and providers
- Assessing knowledge gaps and clinical workflows, and implementing targeted learning and improvement interventions to improve efficiency and reduce administrative burden
- Evaluating clinical workflows and providing recommendations to improve efficiency and alignment with Epic and other clinical systems
- Developing and maintaining clear, practical training materials and resources
- Monitoring progress and sharing recommendations with clinical leaders and stakeholders
- Supporting adoption of Epic and related clinical technologies within assigned clinical areas
- Building and maintaining working relationships with clinical teams
- Maintaining working knowledge of Epic functionality and clinical workflows
This is not a purely classroom-based training role. You'll spend a significant amount of time working directly with clinicians in real-world settings, helping identify and solve day-to-day workflow challenges as they arise.
Education
- Current Epic Care Ambulatory Certification or the ability to obtain certification within 6 months of hire. AND
- Graduate from an accredited school for licensed practical nursing and possession of State Licensed Practical Nurse license - OR
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and possession of State Registered Nurse license. (required to understand clinical workflows and effectively coach clinicians) - 3+ years of clinical experience in an ambulatory setting
- Experience training, coaching, or supporting adult learners with varying levels of technical proficiency
Days: Monday - Friday. Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required to support training project needs.
Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Experience
- Experience working directly with providers and clinical staff in a collaborative environment
- Experience building rapport and trust with clinicians through consistent communication and follow-through
- Experience supporting workflow improvements or practice changes in a clinical setting
- Experience supporting clinical teams through system and workflow changes
- Experience translating clinical workflows into practical, system-based processes or training
- Experience managing priorities and working independently in a dynamic environment
