Summary of Duties and Responsibilities

The Department of Veterinary Pathology seeks a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to advance research through the integration of 3D organoid models and multi-omics data analysis. This position will leverage genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic datasets to uncover biological mechanisms and generate novel research insights. The successful candidate will apply bioinformatics and statistical approaches to analyze high-throughput data, identify differentially expressed genes, explore protein interaction networks, and perform pathway and functional enrichment analyses.

Responsibilities also include developing and optimizing bioinformatics pipelines, creating data visualizations, and translating complex datasets into biologically meaningful findings. The researcher will collaborate within a multidisciplinary team while staying at the forefront of emerging technologies and advances in genomics, bioinformatics, and computational biology.

Required

Minimum Qualifications
  • PhD in Genomics, Bioinformatics, Molecular Biology, or a related field, and advanced-level experience in organoid development in livestock species.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with real-time PCR (qPCR), including primer design, data analysis, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with statistical and bioinformatics software, including R, SAS, sequence analysis tools, and genomic data analysis methods.
  • Experience developing Excel macros and using database management systems for data organization and retrieval.
  • BSL-3 in vitro and ABSL-3 in vivo experience using rodent models.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
