GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE

The Beauty Sales Leader is essential in driving our mission, vision, and values, tasked with developing a high‑performing team dedicated to achieving top‑line sales growth across various categories. You will lead a dedicated team of Beauty Advisors and Lead Cashiers, overseeing all retail business aspects excluding boutiques, focusing on sales, service, and operational excellence. This role centers on creating an exceptional guest experience while focusing on key performance metrics (NPS, sales), investing in people (guest service, training), and implementing effective processes (SOPs and compliance).

PRINCIPAL

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

As our Beauty Sales Leader, you’ll guide Ulta Beauty’s values through your daily responsibilities, including:

  • Fostering accountability within your team to achieve Ulta Beauty’s sales and service goals.
  • Enhancing company profitability by analyzing and refining underperforming metrics.
  • Utilizing store forecasts and budgets to optimize scheduling and productivity.
  • Organizing unforgettable in‑store events that elevate guest experiences and drive sales.
  • Analyzing Ulta Beauty’s financial reports proactively to identify and address operational challenges.
  • Engaging with guests through makeup applications and product demonstrations to enhance their experience.
  • Staying informed about beauty industry trends and product knowledge to better assist guests.
  • Maintaining consistent and punctual attendance while ensuring your team adheres to attendance policies.
People
  • Recruit and retain a diverse team of top‑tier talent while efficiently addressing staffing needs.
  • Build an engaged team that embodies the Ulta Beauty brand through collaboration and communication.
  • Create an inclusive environment fostering professional growth and team engagement.
  • Conduct training, provide feedback, and facilitate continuous professional development for associates.
  • Participate actively in ongoing training and support direct reports in their development.
  • Establish strong relationships with brand partners to collaboratively meet sales and service goals.
  • Model teamwork and guest service excellence, providing clear direction and sharing best practices.
Process
  • Ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty policies and standards across all store operations.
  • Adhere to dress codes and ensure your team does the same.
  • Utilize scheduling and task management tools efficiently to maximize store operations.
  • Safeguard company assets through adherence to safety, inventory control, and loss prevention protocols.
  • Support continuous improvement through the adoption of company initiatives and technology.
  • Regularly communicate trends, opportunities, and challenges to field leadership.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS Education
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience
  • 2‑3+ years of retail management or relevant fast‑paced experience.
  • Proven success in driving sales and managing payroll budgets.
  • Expertise in retail management, operational excellence, and merchandising.
  • Leadership experience in talent attraction, development, and team motivation.
Skills
  • Proficient in technology, including POS systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal abilities.
  • Adept organizational skill set for multitasking.
  • Ability to remain composed in high‑pressure situations.
SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • Flexible, full‑time schedule availability, including evenings and weekends.
  • Participation in corporate meetings and conferences.
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Active mobility throughout the store during shifts, including various movements.
  • Regular lifting and manipulating of objects during shifts.
  • Coordination required for daily tasks and responsibilities.
