Full-Time Counter Sales/Parts Associate (Ames, IA)

As a Full-Time Counter Sales/Parts Associate at QC Supply in Ames, IA, you will be right in the heart of the action, providing excellent customer service and sales support, as well as ensuring that everything is in its rightful place and ready for shipment.
Ames, IA hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm.
Your RoleFrom supporting walk‑in customers in our showroom to picking, packing, and shipping orders, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery, you will be an essential part of our team.

Core Responsibilities- Work with QC Supply retail customers, both in‑store and over the phone, to understand their needs.
- Recommend the best parts and equipment to address customer needs.
- Educate new customers on new products and special promotions, and promote QC Supply products.
- Properly operate office equipment, handle payment transactions, and efficiently utilize computer operating systems.
- Assist with inventory management, including shelving products and performing cycle counts.
- Maintain inventory levels to assure that adequate quantities of all stock are on hand.
- Ensure all materials entering or leaving the warehouse are properly accounted for.
- Keep the parts counter and showroom neat and clean.
- Demonstrate a willingness to perform any daily task as assigned.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Ability to read, understand, and speak English.
- Ability to function in a fast‑paced, customer‑driven environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
- Prior customer service experience preferred.
- Strong computer, organizational, and written communication skills.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
- Problem‑solving skills and ability to identify and resolve issues promptly.
- Teamwork and willingness to seek guidance when needed.
- Works a minimum of 40 hours a week with occasional overtime.
Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and talk or hear. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally as required.
Additional NotesThis position works in an office environment with some work in a warehouse environment as well.
