Job Title: Meat Clerk

FLSA: Non‑Exempt

General Function: Provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service in the Meat and/or Seafood Department, wrapping, trimming, stocking cases, and receiving merchandise.

• Provide prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service, greeting customers, learning their names, and offering assistance, including escorting them to desired products and handling heavy items.
• Answer telephone calls promptly and take customer orders.
• Wrap, weigh, and label products; review food freshness, stock cases, and rotate products.
• Finish trims on steaks, roasts, and chops, prepare and display seafood; tray, slice, tenderize, and grind products.
• Maintain a clean and neat work area, practicing proper sanitation procedures and adhering to company guidelines on personal hygiene and dress.
• Report out‑of‑stock items, replenish merchandise as directed, and prepare signage for the department.
• Assist in other areas of the store as needed and perform other job‑related duties and special projects.
• Work night and weekend shifts as required.

• High School diploma or equivalent; food safety training required.
• Up to six months of similar or related work experience.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal or written instructions, perform simple arithmetic, and record information accurately.
• Strong teamwork and customer‑focused attitude, with a growth mindset and results orientation.

• Excert up to 85 pounds occasionally, up to 40 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly.
• Require vision, depth perception, and color vision with or without correction.
• Perform tasks involving climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.

• Continually exposed to a cool environment and dampness, with frequent noise from saws, exposure to cleaning solvents, and potential electrical shock.
• Fast‑paced work environment.

Equipment Used: Knives, grinders, patty maker, tenderizer, slicer, pallet jack, tumbler, wrapping system, and rotisserie.

Employment contingent upon successful completion of a pre‑employment drug screen.
