Inside Sales Associate - Waterworks

DSG is seeking a Waterworks Inside Sales Associate in our Ames, IA location. Hours range between 8 am and 5 pm, Monday through Friday.

• Serve as a primary facilitator for customer orders
• Assist customers in a professional manner with product inquiries
• Write and accurately complete orders in a timely manner
• Generate customer quotations and follow up on requested quotes
• Provide troubleshooting and technical support
• Collaborate with sales team members to resolve customer service issues promptly
• Restock the counter area according to product brand and location
• Monitor product inventory and cull damaged product
• Maintain a clean and appealing counter display area
• Identify and encourage the sale of additional products as applicable
• Continue education on latest product updates through manufacturer schools, trade shows, and vendor meetings
• Perform other duties as assigned

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Product and technical knowledge normally acquired in two or more years of college or technical school, or 3‑5 years field experience in the residential/commercial applications of waterworks products.
• Excellent relationship‑building skills.
• Outstanding interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills across phone, email, and in‑person settings.
• Strong attention to detail paired with the ability to multi‑task.
• Active listening skills to determine customer needs and maintain strong relationships.
• Superior problem‑solving, project management, and analytical skills.
• High proficiency with computers – experience in Eclipse or other ERP systems preferred.
• Ability to plan, prioritize, and organize work effectively.
• Physical ability to lift and load items weighing up to 60 lbs.
