Concrete Finisher

The Concrete Finisher under direct or indirect supervision, will be responsible smoothing and finishing surfaces of poured concrete roads, floors, sidewalks, or curbs to specified textures. Concrete Finisher will also perform as a member of the construction crew, performing all the duties of a General Laborer as needed.

• Signals concrete deliverer to position truck to facilitate pouring concrete.
• Moves discharge chute of truck to direct concrete into forms.
• Spreads concrete into inaccessible sections of forms with rake or shovel.
• Levels concrete to specified depth and workable consistency, with handheld screed and floats to bring water to surface and produce soft topping.
• Smoothes, and shapes surfaces of freshly poured concrete.
• Finishes concrete surfaces.
• Removes rough or defective spots from concrete surfaces and assures a drainable project free of ponding.
• Molds expansion joints and edges.
• Produces specified concrete surface with broom.
• Setting of forms.
• Reports to supervisor at end of each day to leave timecard or any other required paperwork as well as receive instruction for next days’ work assignments.
• Secondary functions of general laborer and other duties may be assigned.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Previous concrete finishing experience required.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

• Must have a valid driver's license and a vehicle to get to the job site.

Other Qualifications

Ability to work seasonally. Typically April - November but could be called in during the winter for work as weather allows.
