Installation & Cable Technicians
Seeking multiple Installation & Cable Technicians for projects located in the Ames and Des Moines, IA areas, as well as surrounding states. Some travel is required, and per diem will be provided. Technicians will install data racks/cabinets, Cat6 cabling, COAX, faceplates, and will be responsible for testing and labeling all completed work. Additional tasks include setting up Direc
TV cable boxes, modems, and satellite equipment for individual rooms, as well as assisting in building out server/network closets. Work will take place both inside and outside school buildings and apartment complexes. Occasional duties may include digging trenches and performing directional drilling. Technicians will receive guidance and direction from onsite project leads.
- Install data racks/cabinets, Cat6 and Cat5 cabling, COAX, and faceplates.
- Test and label all completed work.

- Perform occasional trench digging and directional drilling as needed.
- Receive guidance and direction from onsite project leads.
- Installation of cable and network infrastructure.
- Proficiency with Cat6/Cat5 and COAX cabling.
- Ability to perform punchdown and cable installation routines.
- Strong attention to detail and testing accuracy.
- Reliable, hardworking, and motivated to grow and advance in the field.
- Entry level experience acceptable.
- Strong focus on quality and precision.
- Physical ability to work inside and outside buildings and pull cable through trenches.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Contract to Hire position based out of Ames, IA.
Pay & BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
