Position Summary
At Sabanto, we are transforming agriculture through autonomous farming technology. Our team develops and deploys autonomous agricultural equipment that helps growers farm more efficiently, reduce operating costs, and maximize productivity. Join us in building the future of agriculture.
Responsibilities- Install, configure, and commission Sabanto autonomy systems at customer sites.
- Train customers and dealers on the operation and best practices of Sabanto systems.
- Verify proper operation of all hardware and software components prior to customer handoff.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair autonomy systems in the field.
- Perform follow‑up visits to resolve startup issues and provide additional customer coaching.
- Document customer feedback and communicate feature requests and product improvement opportunities to the engineering team.
- Safely transport tractors and implements to customer locations using a pickup truck and trailer.
- Maintain accurate service documentation and installation records.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and customer support teams to continuously improve system performance and customer satisfaction.
- Foster a positive team environment and assist coworkers as needed.
- Associate degree in Farm Equipment & Diesel Technology, Mechanized Agriculture, Electronics Technology, or a related technical field; equivalent hands‑on experience will also be considered.
- Experience as a diesel mechanic, automotive technician, electrician, agricultural equipment technician, or a similar technical role.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to install, modify, and repair mechanical and electrical components, wiring harnesses, and related hardware.
- Ability to calibrate, validate, and troubleshoot electronic control systems.
- Willingness to learn electrical, hydraulic, networking, and communication systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Comfortable presenting and teaching new technology to customers.
- Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
- Valid driver's license with the ability to tow tractors and implements using a pickup truck and trailer.
- Ability to travel up to 90%, primarily throughout the United States with occasional international travel. Home most weekends.
- Farming or agricultural equipment experience.
- Experience operating agricultural machinery and precision agriculture technology.
- Lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Climb on and around agricultural equipment.
- Kneel, crouch, bend, and work in confined spaces.
- Safely operate pickup trucks while towing trailers.
Based in Ames, Iowa.
Initial onboarding includes approximately one month at Sabanto headquarters, working alongside the Verification & Validation team to gain in-depth product knowledge before field deployment.
After onboarding, travel to customer locations throughout North America as needed.
