As a Student Success Coach and Mentor with City Year, you'll serve in a public school as part of a diverse Ameri Corps team, helping students build academic and social emotional skills. You will provide small group and one on one tutoring, support positive classroom behavior, and track student progress. You'll build trusting relationships with students, collaborate with teachers and school staff, and help lead enrichment and after school activities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide in class and small group academic support in core subjects
  • Offer one on one mentoring and coaching to assigned students
  • Support positive behavior and classroom management alongside teachers
  • Track and report student progress using provided tools and data systems
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with students and families
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, school staff, and fellow Ameri
  • Corps members
  • Help plan and facilitate enrichment, after school, and school wide activities
  • Participate in ongoing training, reflection, and leadership development
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and culturally responsive learning environment
  • Represent City Year's values of service, equity, and social justice in the school community
