Compensation
$22.06 to $27.90 per hour (Monday-Thursday 6:00am-4:30pm)
Job SummaryMechanical Assembler I – Assemble structural and mechanical components safely and efficiently to produce a quality product that meets specifications.
Responsibilities- Layout and construct various product assemblies with minimal supervision according to blueprints or specifications.
- Read and follow assembly specifications, bills of materials, and drawing sets, and identify discrepancies.
- Break down assembly drawings and plan successive steps of fabricating and assembling mechanical parts and units.
- Assemble parts according to print, including fitment, alignment, and adjustment.
- Ensure mechanisms are free from binding or interference and function properly, diagnose and repair improper mechanical assembly or operation.
- Maintain ISO‑9001 standards and adhere to all safety and environmental rules and initiatives.
- Participate in Lean initiatives to provide continuous improvement ideas for products, processes, and procedures.
- Work in other areas of the plant as may be required.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Skilled and experienced operating hand, power, and pneumatic‑operated tools common to the trade.
- Blueprint reading capabilities and understanding of measurements and tolerances.
- Ability to obtain a forklift license.
- Ability to learn how to properly handle overhead cranes safely.
- Experience or exposure to Lean concepts.
- Willingness to work long hours, overtime, and weekends as required.
- Effective team player.
- Frequently stand, walk, bend, crouch, kneel, climb, maneuver, stoop, squat, grasp, reach, or otherwise move objects exerting up to 75 pounds of force.
- Daily walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing for sustained periods of time, walking, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
- Require close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts and/or operation of machines; using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
