Accountant, Financial Reporting, Accounts Receivable​/ Collections

Description

Our client in Amherst, Massachusetts is seeking a skilled Contract Accountant to support their accounting and finance operations. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who can step in quickly, manage day-to-day financial activities, and help ensure accurate and timely reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports

+ Support month-end and year-end close processes

+ Reconcile general ledger accounts and bank statements

+ Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities

+ Review journal entries and maintain supporting documentation

+ Help ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards

+ Analyze financial data and identify discrepancies or trends

+ Support audits and assist with ad hoc accounting projects as needed

Requirements

Qualifications:

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred

+ 3+ years of accounting experience

+ Strong understanding of general accounting principles

+

Experience with account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting

+ Proficiency in Excel and accounting software

+ Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

+ Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Preferred

Skills:

+ Experience supporting month-end close

+ Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
