Bookkeeper

Description

Our client in Amherst, Massachusetts is seeking a Contract Bookkeeper to support day-to-day accounting operations. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong bookkeeping experience and the ability to manage financial records accurately in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Maintain accurate financial records and general ledger entries

+ Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions

+ Reconcile bank and credit card statements

+ Assist with payroll processing and related recordkeeping

+ Prepare financial reports and support month-end close activities

+ Monitor expenses and ensure proper documentation

+ Help maintain accounting controls and compliance with company procedures

+ Communicate with internal teams and vendors regarding billing and payment matters

Requirements

+ Previous bookkeeping or accounting support experience required

+ Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel

+ Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations

+ High attention to detail and accuracy

+ Excellent organizational and time management skills

+ Ability to handle confidential financial information professionally

+ Associate degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred
