• Provide chairside assistance during various dental procedures, including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and orthodontics.
• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly according to infection prevention management protocols.
• Take and develop dental x-rays, including digital imaging and 3D scans, while adhering to dental x-ray safety standards and radiation protection guidelines.
• Assist with patient intake by recording vital signs, medical history, and updating medical records using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
• Ensure clinical confidentiality policies are strictly followed when handling patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing medical documentation within EMR systems like Epic, and coordinating with the dental receptionist for smooth clinic operations.
• Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment by following dental sterilization procedures and infection control protocols aligned with healthcare infection prevention standards.
• Demonstrate proficiency in dental terminology and anatomy knowledge to effectively communicate with patients and team members.
• Participate in four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize efficiency during procedures and improve patient comfort.

• Extensive experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for medical records management.
• Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies to protect patient privacy.
• Proficiency in dental x-ray techniques, including digital imaging and 3D scanning technology.
• Knowledge of dental instrument processing, sterilization procedures, aseptic technique, and infection prevention management.
• Skilled in chairside assisting across various specialties including pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and general dentistry.
• Ability to interpret dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy for effective communication within the team.
• Experience working in a fast-paced dental clinic environment with a focus on healthcare infection control practices.
• Familiarity with medical coding and documentation for accurate billing processes related to dental procedures.
• Excellent organizational skills for managing medical records and supporting administrative functions like scheduling and patient communication.
