Educational Diagnostician
The Amherst Regional High School District is currently seeking highly qualified candidates for a full‑time position of Special Education Team Leader (ETL) for special education IEPs at the high school.
Responsibilities- Serve as chairperson of IEP Team meetings
- Complete mandatory documentation paperwork from Team meetings
- Development/writing/review of Individualized Educational Plans
- Regular communication and collaboration with staff /administration involved in the Team process
- Collaborate with the special education liaisons, guidance counselors, and families to develop consents for evaluations based on the individual case
- Collaborate with personnel in the sending and receiving schools to help develop projections and plans for students
- Knowledge and experience with transition planning
- Engage and partner with families involved in the IEP Team process
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with high school departments – i.e. special education, guidance, academic departments.
- Routine collaboration with Special Education support staff
- Maintain routine contact with the Student Services Office and attend district wide and secondary ETL meetings
- Attend district‑wide trainings and Special Education department meetings
- Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Special Education certification
- Experience developing Individualized Educational Plans
- Experience with culturally diverse populations
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Prior experience working with secondary students is desirable
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Demonstrated experience working with and implementing the special education evaluation process, parents’ rights, and current special education law and regulations
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required
