The Amherst Regional Public School District is seeking full time special education para educators to provide individualized or small group support to special education students who are on an IEP. Beyond providing direct support when needed, this position includes supporting student use of assistive technology, implementation of academic lessons to the student(s) under the direction of a special education teacher and service providers, and monitoring for health issues and calling for medical assistance if/when needed.

It may also include attending related service therapy sessions to facilitate carryover of skills from one setting to another. Qualified applicants should possess and/or have experience with the following: commitment towards inclusion that benefits students socially, emotionally and academically, positive outlook, strong interpersonal skills and maintain confidentiality, ability to multitask, be flexible and work within a fast paced environment, patience and a willingness to learn and be challenged, experience with a diverse population of students.
