The Amherst Public School District is seeking full time outgoing and self-directed para-educators to work at Amethyst Brook Elementary School to provide social, emotional, behavior and academic support in 1st-5th grades general education Specials classes. This is a full time, 10 month paraprofessional position.

This position includes providing direct support and academic instruction to student(s) under the direction of the general education teachers.

• Experience with and dedication to creating an environment that is welcoming to a racially, ethnically, linguistically, culturally, gender, and neuro diverse school/community
• Strong, positive interpersonal skills and ability to build respectful and tactful relationships with students, colleagues, parents, and community members
• Effective ability to organize time, prioritize tasks, and work independently despite frequent interruptions, and to exercise discretion on confidential matters
• Strong ability to work as a member of a professional learning community
• Highly effective oral and written communication skills
• Effectively work with individual students and small groups to support their academic growth and progress.
• Support Specials instructional environments in PE, Art, Technology, Music, and Library.
