Senior Managing Consultant or Principal, LSP in Massachusetts

Full‑time role. As a Licensed Site Professional (LSP) in Massachusetts, you will join our Environment and Health department and work with the New England team to deliver innovative, sustainable environmental solutions. Your work will support clients across Boston, Westford, Amherst, MA, Portland, ME, and Hartford, CT.

Key Responsibilities
  • Site investigation and assessment
    • Conduct comprehensive investigations to identify contamination sources and evaluate risks.
    • Collect and analyze soil, groundwater, and other environmental samples per standard protocols.
    • Perform data interpretation, risk assessment, and modeling to determine contamination extent and impacts.
  • Remediation planning and implementation
    • Develop and implement remediation plans based on investigation findings.
    • Oversee execution of remediation strategies such as excavation, soil vapor extraction, and in‑situ bioremediation.
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, guidelines, and permits.
  • Regulatory compliance and reporting
    • Coordinate with Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) and other agencies to obtain approvals and permits.
    • Prepare and submit site investigation reports, risk assessments, remedial action plans, progress reports, and closure documents.
    • Monitor regulatory changes and ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Client management and communication
    • Serve as primary contact for clients and stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status.
    • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, geologists, and technicians.
    • Translate complex technical information into clear, concise communication for clients.
  • Quality control and assurance
    • Implement QC/QA processes to ensure accurate data collection and reporting.
    • Conduct audits and reviews to verify compliance with project plans and best practices.
    • Identify and remediate any project deviations promptly.
Qualifications
  • Valid Massachusetts LSP license (mandatory).
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in environmental science, geology, engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in site investigations and remediation projects under the Massachusetts Contingency Plan (MCP).
  • Strong understanding of environmental regulations, guidelines, and best practices for contaminated site cleanup.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, risk assessment, and modeling techniques.
  • Excellent project management skills, including prioritization, deadline management, and multitasking.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate with clients, agencies, and teams.
  • Attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of environmental sampling methods and laboratory analysis.
  • Familiarity with environmental software and tools commonly used in site investigation and remediation.
  • Preferred: ability to bring existing clients or projects to Ramboll.
