Overview

A K-12 school in Amherst, MA, is seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) or Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to serve as a long-term substitute for a maternity leave through mid-April 2026. This in-person, contract role offers an opportunity to support students' communication development in a dynamic educational setting.

Responsibilities
  • Provide speech and language therapy services to students across K-12 grade levels.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to student needs.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, school staff, and families to support student progress.
  • Maintain thorough documentation and comply with school policies and state regulations.
  • Participate in team meetings and professional development activities as required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification as an SLP with CCC (Certificate of Clinical Competence) or as an SLPA.

  • Familiarity with teletherapy is a plus, though primary services will be in-person.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with children and school personnel.
  • Flexibility and reliability to manage a leave coverage position through mid-April 2026.
