Recreation Assistant
Recreation Assistants support adaptive paddling and cycling and programs in parks across the state.
Responsibilities- Transporting equipment via state truck and trailer
- Carrying equipment
- Registering participants
- Providing physical and interactive support to program participants during activities
- Assembly, delivery, and service visits of beach wheelchairs at state parks are also part of each work week
- Training provided
- Travel reimbursement for use of personal vehicle on some days
- Must be 18 years or older and have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation state-wide
- Current First Aid and CPR certification are helpful
- Prior experience working with people with disabilities and/or with outdoor recreation is especially helpful
