Job SummaryDr. Hannah Laue of the UMass Amherst Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to begin by September of 2026. This is a full-time, 12‑month position. The Postdoctoral Research Associate will contribute to NIH‑funded research on a range of topics related to the microbiome, environmental exposures, and adolescent health.
Essential Functions- Developing and conducting statistical analyses
- Reviewing and summarizing relevant literature
- Writing scientific papers
- Participating in lab meetings
- Providing support to Dr. Laue in preparation of grant proposals
- PhD or equivalent in Epidemiology, Environmental Health, Biostatistics or related field
- Research experience in the area of human microbiomes, environmental epidemiology, children’s health, women’s health, and/or longitudinal data
- Excellent quantitative analytical skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Substantial experience in R and/or Python
- Publication record
Work is performed in a standard office or indoor university environment and involves minimal physical exertion.
Work Schedule and Work ArrangementM-F, variable. This position allows for a hybrid work schedule, defined by the University as an arrangement where an employee’s work is regularly performed at a location other than the campus workspace for a portion of the week.
Salary InformationFor identified hires with 0‑2 years of postdoc experience, UMass Amherst expects to pay between $62,838 and $65,138 for this position.
For identified hires with 3‑4 years of postdoc experience, UMass Amherst expects to pay between $66,287 and 67,437 for this position.
