Job Description If you are someone with mechanical ability, a desire to help others and a valid driver’s license, this position might be for you. Stavros is looking for people with mechanical skills and a valid driver’s license willing to take an intensive paid training on wheelchair repairs. The ideal candidate once trained will repair wheelchairs, at the homes of people with disabilities and our workshop and make deliveries of loaner wheelchairs and parts.
We will provide training. This position helps people with disabilities live in the community, by providing needed repairs and loaners. This position is full time in person out of Stavros’ Amherst office with most days being spent on the road doing wheelchair repairs and deliveries/pick up of parts or wheelchairs.
Schedule:
Monday through Friday 9am-4:30pm, 35 hours per week with Benefits
** Job Responsibilities*
* • Responds to service calls and makes quality repairs in multiple and various environments to include field and consumer homes
• Repairs equipment per factory and clinical specifications
• Maintains loaner fleet including cleaning, simple repairs, battery check and overall condition of the chair prior to distribution
• Provides assistance as needed with inventory control and counts for all custom, special orders and stock items processed
• Delivers equipment as directed by operations including fitting, instruction, compliance, and customer service requirements
• Accurately complete and maintain all required service documentation, mileage logs, vehicle inspection forms, repair records, and Job Route Tracker entries in accordance with program procedures and timelines
• Regular monitoring and reporting of services/ maintenance required for optimal condition of Wheelchair Operations vehicles
• Any other assigned duties as requested by Repair Tech Supervisor## Qualifications As our

• Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle; excellent driving record with no violations for past two years.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalency certificate
• Mechanical aptitude and ability, with experience performing mechanical or electrical equipment repairs.
• Ability to work independently and problem solve
• Ability to communicate effectively professionally and efficiently over the phone or in person; strong attention to detail
• Computer proficient Including Windows 11, excel and email
• Ability to multi task
