School Adjustment Counselor
The Amherst-Pelham School District is seeking a School Adjustment Counselor to provide in-school counseling services for students with social, emotional, and behavioral needs. The School Adjustment Counselor will work with the students with social/emotional challenges. The caseload may include both providing services to students in specialized Special Education programs as well as other students needing counseling services in the school. The Counselor will partner with Special Education liaisons and collaborate with other school personnel to meet the needs of the students in the school.
The School Adjustment Counselor will have the following roles and responsibilities:
- Provide group and individual counseling services
- Design and deliver tiered supports and interventions
- Case management services for assigned caseload
- Collaborate and consult with school personnel on topics related to social/emotional learning and mental health issues
- Provide crisis intervention when needed
- Do behavioral assessments and develop behavior support plans
- Family communication and collaboration as part of service delivery planning and services
- Collaborate and consult with teachers and related service personnel regarding strategies and interventions appropriate for students and communication regarding progress monitoring
- Maintain contact with outside providers and agencies to facilitate a comprehensive approach to the student's service delivery
- Develop individual student goals and benchmarks, collect and analyze data, and prepare progress reports

Duties and Responsibilities:
- IEP assessments, goal writing and progress reports as needed
- Perform other related duties as required
- Assume any additional responsibilities as directed by the Principal
- Participate in and maintain QBS Safety Care certification
- Attend district wide mental health team meetings and trainings
- Self-harm and threat assessment screenings as indicated
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree or above in Social Work, Psychology, or other mental health provider field
- Background working with children and adolescents with special educational needs.
- MA ESE School Adjustment Counselor certification required.
