The Amherst-Pelham School District is seeking a School Adjustment Counselor to provide in‑school counseling services for students with social, emotional, and behavioral needs. The counselor will work with students experiencing social/emotional challenges, including those in specialized Special Education programs. The role involves partnering with Special Education liaisons and collaborating with school personnel to meet student needs.
Responsibilities- Provide group and individual counseling services
- Design and deliver tiered supports and interventions
- Offer case management services for the assigned caseload
- Collaborate and consult with school personnel on social/emotional learning and mental health issues
- Provide crisis intervention when needed
- Conduct behavioral assessments and develop behavior support plans
- Communicate and collaborate with families as part of service delivery planning and services
- Consult with teachers and related service personnel on strategies, interventions, and progress monitoring
- Maintain contact with outside providers and agencies to facilitate a comprehensive student service delivery approach
- Develop individual student goals and benchmarks, collect and analyze data, and prepare progress reports
- IEP assessments, goal writing, and progress reports as needed
- Perform related duties as required
- Assume additional responsibilities as directed by the Principal
- Participate in and maintain QBS Safety Care certification
- Attend district wide mental health team meetings and trainings
- Conduct self‑harm and threat assessment screenings as indicated
- Master’s Degree or above in Social Work, Psychology, or another mental health provider field
- Background working with children and adolescents with special educational needs
- MA ESE School Adjustment Counselor certification required
- Bilingual and/or bicultural candidates encouraged to apply
Full‑Time
Salary$51,302 to $92,079 Per Year
