Role Overview

You will serve as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) supporting daily operations at Bio Life Plasma Services, a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd. You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and work under the guidance of the Center Physician for medical issues.

Responsibilities
  • Determine donor eligibility by managing informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview, acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
  • Review laboratory test results and notify donors of unsuitable test results.
  • Manage donor adverse events and evaluate donor reactions in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including development of Center Physician’s standing orders and coordinating donor transport to emergency care facilities.
  • Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance concerning medical or technical issues.
  • Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
  • Manage employee incidents and determine if further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER, referencing EHS guidance.
  • Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats.
  • Provide center-level support for environmental, health and safety (EHS) compliance.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent, or graduate‑level nursing program meeting state requirements.
  • Current state licensure or certification as a Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA).
  • Current CPR and AED certification.

    Fulfillment of state requirements for basic intravenous (IV) therapy.
  • Completion of the FDA‑approved training required for Bio Life Medical Support Specialists.
  • Minimum two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Hourly wage range: $33.44 – $45.98 (based on qualifications, experience, and location).
