Plasma Center Nurse – RN

Job Description

A Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) reports to the Plasma Center Manager and supports day‑to‑day operations of a plasma collection center. The role is focused on ensuring donor safety, eligibility, and compliance with plasma collection regulations.

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, self‑exclusion, medical history, physical examination, blood testing, and serologic testing.
• Manage donor adverse events and evaluate responses as outlined in SOPs.
• Review laboratory test results, notify donors of unsuitable results, and coordinate follow‑up care.
• Refer medical or technical concerns to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs as needed.
• Support environmental, health and safety (EHS) requirements and follow guidance from Bio Life Medical Affairs.
• Assist with Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and determine further evaluation requirements for occupational health or EHS guidance.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats.
• Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with regulatory and internal standards.

• High school diploma or equivalent, or a recognized nursing program with state requirements.
• Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA) licensure in the state of assignment.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfillment of state IV therapy requirements.
• Completion of FDA‑approved Bio Life Medical Support Specialist training program.
• Minimum two years of clinical or hospital experience.

Hourly wage range: $33.44 – $45.98. Actual wage depends on qualifications, experience, and location.
