JOB PURPOSE
The Director, ESG Reporting and Compliance, leads the Group’s global ESG reporting strategy, governance frameworks, systems roadmap, compliance readiness, and assurance approach. This role oversees both the ESG reporting and CSRD preparation functions, ensuring the Group delivers transparent, accurate, and compliant disclosures in line with regulatory requirements and investor expectations. This role shapes the company’s long‑term reporting strategy, strengthens internal control environments, and builds ESG capabilities across the organization.
KEY DELIVERABLES- Multi‑year group-wide ESG Reporting strategy and systems roadmap.
- CSRD‑aligned and assurance‑ready disclosures across all ESG dimensions.
- Quarterly ESG dashboards and Board‑level reporting.
- Reporting systems strategy, integrations, and continuous improvement plan.
- Group‑wide capability‑building and training programs.
- Compliance reporting according to existing and upcoming legislations (UK SECR, UK CFRD, California Climate Regulations, CSRD, CSDDD, EU Taxonomy, etc.) as well as relevant ESG benchmark reporting (CDP, DJSI, MSCI, etc.)
Leadership & Strategy
- Define and continuously evolve the Group’s ESG reporting strategy.
- Provide oversight to both the CSRD Preparation and ESG Reporting teams.
- Set clear KPI frameworks, performance standards, and quality benchmarks.
- Advise on ESG due diligence and lead subsidiary integrations, to manage impacts to public disclosures and commitments, group compliance, and the achievement of the company’s ESG strategy
- Govern Group ESG methodologies and reporting policies.
- Oversee ESG data architecture, system performance, and integrations.
- Ensure consistent internal control design and compliance across all OpCos.
- Provide strategic oversight for the CSRD readiness program, ensuring alignment with timelines and audit requirements.
- Engage with senior leaders across Finance, Legal, Risk, and Operations on CSRD implications.
- Oversee the successful and timely delivery of the yearly ESG reporting packs as per compliance requirements.
- Oversee assurance planning, auditor engagement, and findings resolution.
- Ensure audit‑ready documentation across both reporting and CSRD teams.
Knowledge &
Experience:
- 12+ years in ESG reporting, financial reporting, audit, or sustainability leadership.
- Expertise in CSRD/ESRS, EU Taxonomy, GRI, GHG Protocol, and global reporting frameworks.
- Proven leadership of multi‑functional teams and complex regulatory programs.
- Outstanding communication skills, with ability to advise senior executives.
