We are partnering with an internationally recognised bridal and couture brand to appoint an accomplished Head of Atelier for its Amsterdam studio.
This is a senior, hands‑on leadership position responsible for overseeing the atelier, managing the creation of exceptional couture and bridal pieces, and ensuring the highest standards of fit, finish and craftsmanship from initial toile through to final delivery.
The successful candidate will combine outstanding technical expertise with strong team leadership, organisation and a genuine passion for couture craftsmanship.

Key Responsibilities   Lead the day‑to‑day running of the Amsterdam atelier, ensuring projects are delivered to the highest technical and aesthetic standards.
Manage, mentor and develop a skilled team of pattern cutters, seamstresses, tailors, embroiderers and atelier specialists.
Translate the Creative Director’s vision and design concepts into beautifully constructed, technically resolved garments.
Oversee the complete development process from initial toile and pattern development through fittings, alterations and final completion.
Lead fittings for bridal, couture, VIP and private clients, confidently identifying and communicating technical solutions.
Ensure exceptional fit, proportion, construction and finish across every garment.
Plan atelier capacity, workflows and deadlines across seasonal collections, bespoke commissions, bridal orders, events and special projects.
Allocate work effectively across the team according to individual skills, priorities and production schedules.
Work closely with Design, Product Development, Production and Client Services to ensure clear communication and smooth project delivery.
Advise design teams on construction methods, fabric suitability, finishing techniques and technical feasibility.
Maintain accurate technical records, fitting notes, patterns and garment specifications.
Establish and uphold the brand’s couture quality standards and atelier processes.
Identify technical or production risks early and implement practical solutions without compromising the creative vision.
Oversee alterations and final quality control before garments are presented or delivered to clients.
Support material sourcing and advise on specialist fabrics, trims, embellishments and couture techniques.
Build relationships with specialist suppliers, craftspeople and external ateliers where required.
Manage atelier resources, equipment and budgets responsibly.
Foster a collaborative, calm and highly professional atelier culture.
Experience and Skills   Significant experience within a luxury bridal, couture or high‑end designer atelier.
Previous experience leading an atelier or managing a highly skilled technical team.
Exceptional knowledge of pattern cutting, draping, garment construction, corsetry, tailoring, finishing and couture techniques.
Strong understanding of bridalwear, including complex fittings, delicate fabrics, embellishment and bespoke alterations.
Proven experience delivering one‑of‑a‑kind pieces for private, VIP or high‑profile clients.
Confident leading fittings and communicating sensitively and professionally with clients.
Ability to interpret creative concepts and develop practical technical solutions.
Excellent understanding of garment balance, proportion, movement and fit.
Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines and changing priorities.
Strong leadership and people‑management skills, with a supportive and collaborative approach.
Exceptional attention to detail and an uncompromising commitment to quality.
Clear communication skills and the confidence to work closely with senior creative and commercial stakeholders.
Fluent English is required; additional European languages would be beneficial.
Based in Amsterdam or open to relocation.
The Candidate  You will be an inspiring and technically accomplished atelier leader who is equally comfortable overseeing a team, resolving complex construction challenges and working hands‑on when required.
Calm under pressure and meticulous in your approach, you will understand the discretion, sensitivity and attention to detail required when creating couture and bridal pieces for private clients. Above all, you will share the brand’s commitment to exceptional craftsmanship and help preserve and evolve its atelier standards.
This is a rare opportunity to lead the atelier of a distinctive bridal and couture house and play an integral role in bringing its creative vision to life.
