We are looking for a highly motivated, analytical, and detail‑oriented Finance Intern to join our dynamic international team in Amsterdam. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands‑on experience within a fast‑growing, mission‑driven scale‑up while contributing directly to meaningful business operations and impact.
As part of the Finance team, you will work closely with colleagues in accounting, operations, and business functions to support day‑to‑day financial activities and help ensure smooth organisational operations. You will gain practical exposure to financial processes, reporting, and operational finance in an innovative company that combines commercial growth with social and environmental impact.
Key Responsibilities & ObjectivesYour Key Responsibilities
- Process supplier invoices, employee expenses, and payment requests accurately and on time.
- Support accounts payable and receivable activities.
- Maintain organised financial records and documentation.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth financial workflows.
- Support the Finance team with administrative tasks when needed.
Key Objectives
- Maintain accurate and efficient financial operations.
- Assist with bookkeeping, reporting, and administrative finance processes.
- Contribute to monthly and quarterly closing activities.
- Help improve financial workflows and internal documentation.
- Gain hands‑on experience with financial systems, reporting, and business operations in a scale‑up environment.
Core Activities
- Review and process invoices and expense claims.
- Update financial records and internal trackers.
- Support monthly closing checklists and reporting preparation.
- Currently enrolled in a higher vocational education (HBO / MBO) degree program in Accounting.
- Strong interest in sustainability, technology, and mission‑driven businesses.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Comfortable working with numbers and financial data.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel; familiarity with accounting or ERP systems is a plus.
- Proactive, organised, and eager to learn in a fast‑paced environment.
- Able to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Previous internship, extracurricular, or project experience in finance or accounting is a plus.
