As part of our dynamic brand evolution and ambitious growth strategy, we’re seeking a Marine Underwriter based in the Netherlands to drive the expansion of our newly established Marine portfolio.

• Underwrite business following the business plan and regulatory requirements.
• Support the development and delivery of the annual business plan of the department.
• Contribute to meetings to share knowledge and best practices.
• Promote the department, division, and company to maximize brand leverage.
• Establish and strengthen relationships with stakeholders.
• Continually develop technical knowledge and expertise.
• Cooperate with Portfolio Manager to optimize and achieve plans.
• Ensure accurate recording of insurance risks and compliance with regulations.

• University degree or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
• Significant experience in underwriting marine risks (Cargo, Freight Forwarders Liability) and potentially Fine Art & Specie.
• Established relationships with brokers and intermediaries.
• Understanding of QBE’s risk appetite and underwriting rules for marine business.
• Good communicator and relationship builder, fluent in English and Dutch.
