Financial Manager, CFO
Zero Motorcycles is looking for an experienced and hands‑on Global Financial Director in Amsterdam to oversee all finance and accounting operations across our growing international business. To support our growth and ambitious global expansion, we are looking for an agile, forward‑thinking Finance Director who thrives in dynamic, high‑growth environments. In this role, you will lead the financial heartbeat of our European operations—ensuring accuracy, insight, and impact in every number.
Whatto Expect
You will manage the accounting and finance global activities. You will ensure accurate and timely reporting, budgeting, forecasting (in cooperation with FP&A) and compliance with relevant financial regulations. Working closely with the CFO and executive leadership, you’ll provide insights and recommendations to support strategic decision‑making and sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, reporting, tax management, treasury and compliance.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial statements and month‑end closings.
- Maintain internal controls, audit readiness and risk management practices.
- Support the CFO in long‑term strategic planning and investment decisions.
- Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors and financial institutions.
- Develop KPIs and dashboards to monitor performance and drive improvement.
- Mentor and support the finance team to build a high‑performing culture.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Master’s and/or CPA/RA/ACCA preferred).
- 10+ years of progressive experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Experience in mid‑sized or fast‑growing international companies, preferably manufacturing or distributors.
- Strong knowledge of US‑GAAP (with the ability to discuss technical matters with auditors and advisors) and preferably working knowledge of NL‑GAAP.
- Experience in managing multi‑currency consolidations.
- Working experience with (partly) outsourced accounting functions.
- Experience in overseeing a multi‑jurisdictional payroll.
- Comfortable navigating USA and NL direct‑ and indirect tax frameworks, ability to discuss tax planning with tax advisors.
- Experience in private equity or similarly held groups, preferably with exposure to managing equity plans.
- Fluent in English;
Dutch is a plus. Strategic thinker with excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities. - Strong leadership and communication skills. Hands‑on and proactive with a commercial mindset and with the ability to provide FP&A with timely and relevant input.
- Able to balance strategic oversight with operational detail.
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, international environment.
- Ability to manage a treasury function spanning multiple entities.
- Working experience with SAP, preferably S/4
