Senior Analyst

Role Overview

As a Senior Analyst on the Strategy & Portfolio Management team, you will develop deep knowledge of private equity portfolio management and construction. The role involves setting up and maintaining in‑depth analyses of Carlyle Alp Invest’s portfolios, working with large, complex data sets, and providing advanced modeling and analyses to support strategic portfolio management decisions.

• Drive strategic decisions through advanced modeling and analyses of funds, portfolios, and liquidity.
• Maintain track records and key metrics across Primary, Secondary, and Co‑Investment strategies to support fundraising initiatives and internal benchmarking.
• Prepare and automate monthly, quarterly, and annual portfolio reporting for investors, including performance attribution and benchmarking.
• Serve as a key point of contact for portfolio‑related inquiries from investors, delivering timely, accurate, and well‑reasoned responses.
• Develop and enhance portfolio models covering cash‑flow forecasting, pacing, performance analysis/attribution, and client allocation.
• Support budgeting and forecasting at portfolio, product, and firm level, including scenario analysis to inform strategic planning.
• Design and implement new analytical tools and reporting frameworks; improve business processes to scale operations for a rapidly growing client base.
• Work with investment team leadership and senior management to establish and continually improve Carlyle Alp Invest’s liquidity and portfolio management practices.
• Support fundraising efforts through the preparation of track‑record materials, exposure modeling, and product development analyses.
• Contribute to ad‑hoc strategic initiatives and management presentations across the platform.

University degree in Econometrics, Engineering (preferably with supplementary degree in Finance or Economics), (Quantitative) Finance or Economics with a strong quantitative profile.

Up to 2 years of experience in a relevant field.

• Advanced Excel skills; comfort building and maintaining complex financial models.
• Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail; ability to work accurately with large, multi‑source datasets and translate findings into clear, actionable conclusions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to distil complex quantitative output into concise, well‑reasoned narratives for a senior audience.
• Highly organized and structured, with the ability to manage multiple work streams and prioritize effectively under competing deadlines.
• Genuine interest in private equity and alternative investments; prior exposure through professional experience, coursework, internships, or self‑study is a plus but not required.
• Familiarity with programming and AI/data tools is advantageous.

The compensation range for this role is specific to Amsterdam and is based on a wide range of factors including skill set, experience, and training.
